WEATHER OUTLOOK
A hot start gives way to a brief mid-week disturbance, then a warm and dry finish.
Monday-Tuesday: Near-record heat continues. Sierra communities like Truckee and Tahoe City can expect highs near 78-80F. Record highs are within reach, including South Lake Tahoe’s May 11 record of 78F set in 2013. Afternoon west breezes with gusts up to 25 mph. No precipitation.
Wednesday-Thursday: A low-pressure system arrives from the eastern Pacific. Temperatures cool noticeably. Isolated showers and possible thunder are possible, with higher chances in the Tahoe Basin northward. Winds could gust 30-40 mph at times. Timing remains uncertain between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
Friday-Sunday: Dry conditions return. Highs in the upper 60s to near 70F for Sierra communities. A few degrees above average but much more comfortable than early week. Typical afternoon breezes.
