Placer Artists Tour: North Tahoe
10am–5pm daily · Participating galleries in Tahoe City, Kings Beach and Olympic Valley · Free
North Tahoe galleries are joining the Placer Artists Tour for the first time. Meet local artists, see what they’re working on and explore stops including Gallery Keoki, The Eadington Gallery, Kiwi Kamera and North Tahoe Arts. Pick a few galleries and make an afternoon of it. Ladies Night in Downtown Truckee
5–8pm · Historic Downtown Truckee · Free to attend; shopping extra
An evening of shopping and catching up with friends, with participating boutiques staying open late. Make a loop through downtown, including West River and Jibboom streets. No RSVP needed.
Family Movie Night at Tahoe Donner
6pm · Northwoods Clubhouse, 11509 Northwoods Boulevard, Truckee · Free
An easy Friday plan with the kids: bring a pillow and blanket, grab some free popcorn and settle in for a PG-rated movie. Seating is first come, first served, and adults need to stay on the premises. Way She Goes: Ski For The Love’s new film

Ski For The Love’s latest film follows the crew through Tahoe’s ups and downs and trips to Japan, Canada, Alaska, Argentina and New Zealand.

If your family could use a helping hand, stop by the church’s clothing and soft-goods exchange. Everything is free, and the aim is to get useful items to neighbors who need them.
Truckee Ski & Snowboard Swap
11am–4pm · Steve Randall Community Recreation Center, 10981 Truckee Way · Free admission
The annual chance to replace the boots your kids somehow outgrew over summer, find some winter gear or move along equipment that’s taking up garage space. Local shops will be there to answer questions, and sales and the silent auction support TDRPD recreation scholarships.
Selling gear? Check-in is tonight, 5–7pm, or Saturday, 7:30–9am. There’s a 21% commission on sold items. Seller details.
Truckee Art Walk
4–7pm · Historic Downtown Truckee · Free
Local artists set up in participating shops and galleries, with work on display and live demonstrations. Pick up an Art Walk map, wander a few stops and make an evening of it downtown.
Learn to tune your skis or snowboard at Start Haus
6–7pm · Start Haus, 11351 Highway 89, Truckee · Free; no registration needed
Picked up something at the swap? Start Haus kicks off its winter clinic series with tuning basics, tools, waxing and equipment care. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome, whether you’re starting from scratch or could use a refresher.
